Sauna Heat Shielding

Sauna heat shielding is used to protect combustible surfaces from the heat of sauna heater. This is used when the heaters minimum safety requirements (to combustible material) are smaller than the space permitted for the heater. More often than not, heat shielding is needed for wood burning sauna heaters on account of their greater safety distance requirements. Heat shielding reduces the minimum safety distance requirements by providing a non-combustible barrier which in turn reduces heat transfer to the surrounding sauna panels. Heat shielding can be necessary for beneath the heater (Heat Shielding Bases), the sides of the heater (heat shielding paneling - both double and single layered), the chimney (Flue Heat Shielding) and the floor in front of the heater (Heat Shielding spill guard).
