These Thermory SHP bench boards bring the deep, striped tones of thermo radiata pine to a sauna bench. The timber is thermally modified without chemicals, so it resists splitting and splintering and secretes no resin when hot, which keeps it comfortable to sit and lean against. Each pack contains four boards measuring 26 mm thick by 140 mm wide, cut to the SHP profile: a rectangular section with radiused corners that is the standard for sauna bench boards. Choose from 2400 mm and 2100 mm lengths; the boards suit DIY bench builds, or we can create your ideal bench system through our sauna bench fabrication service.

Timber
Thermo radiata pine is a dark brown wood with a unique striped grain colour and pattern, and very few to no knots, making it a natural choice where a darker aesthetic is desired. Its low-density structure resists splitting and splintering, and the timber does not secrete resin when hot. The same properties make it a strong choice for sauna walls and ceilings. As a natural product, timber shows some colour variation between packs and batches.
Profile
SHP is the standard profile for sauna bench boards: a rectangular section with radiused corners, usually R2, R3 or R4 (a 2 mm, 3 mm or 4 mm radius on each edge). The radius value describes the smoothness of the board edge. The 26 mm thickness is important to prevent warping and twisting over time.
Quality and wastage
This timber is A-grade quality, characterised by durability and a low risk of splintering. We recommend a wastage allowance of 20%, which also accounts for the risk of damage in transit. If you need a shorter length than we stock, our cutting service can trim a longer board to size for a small fee, with the off-cut added to the pallet.
