Our SHP bench boards in thermo alder are made for sauna benches that stay stable and comfortable for years. The SHP profile is the standard for sauna seating: a rectangular section with smoothly radiused R3 edges, cut at a full 28 mm thickness to resist warping and twisting over time. Thermo alder brings a warm hazel-brown colour and subtle texture, and because it is heat-treated it will not splinter or overheat in the sauna. Each pack contains four boards 140 mm wide, in lengths of 2100 mm or 2400 mm, and this listing is discounted to reflect potential colour variation, so boards may show a slightly darker tone. Thermo alder has a hazel-brown colour and a subtle texture favoured by many. Like other heat-treated timbers it carries a low risk of warping and twisting, and it will not splinter or overheat at sauna temperatures. Timber is a natural product, so some colour variation between boards, packs and batches should be expected.

This particular timber may present a slightly darker tone, and colour can vary from season to season, batch to batch, and supplier to supplier. To keep an installation consistent, avoid mixing timber from different sources; if a close colour match is essential, we strongly recommend bringing a sample and collecting the material in person. We ship lengths up to 2400mm at standard rates; if we do not stock your required length but have a longer board available, our cutting service can cut it down for a small fee. You purchase the full length and the off-cut travels on the pallet.
