Description
The Cup STJ is Helo’s classic wall-mounted electric sauna heater, handcrafted in Finland and valued for its timeless shape and straightforward controls. This 9 kW version heats sauna rooms of 9–14 m³ and connects to a three-phase supply only. A 23 kg stone capacity gives a soft, even steam, while the integrated thermostat and 9 hour pre-selection timer keep everyday use simple. The lightweight graphite black body mounts directly to the sauna wall, freeing up floor space in smaller rooms. Sauna stones are sold separately; Helo recommends smaller vulcanite stones under 10 cm.

Installation
Installation and maintenance must be carried out by a certified electrician, with the electricity supply isolated at the fuse panel before any work begins. Under IEC 60364-7-703 and BS 7671:2018 an electric sauna heater does not have to be connected through an RCD, and for reliable operation Helo recommends that the heater supply is not run through one; other electrical devices in the sauna room should be RCD protected. A local point of isolation covering all live conductors is recommended. The connection cable is heat-resistant H07RN-F (60245 IEC 66), and the installation manual in the Downloads tab and local wiring regulations must be followed.
Sauna stones
Sauna stones are purchased separately. This heater takes approximately 23 kg of stones, and Helo recommends smaller vulcanite stones under 10 cm.
