Finnmark Sauna's aspen STS4 cladding dresses sauna walls and ceilings in our palest timber, a wood with a uniform, straight grain that runs from light brown to nearly white. Slim, angular grooves and the 4 mm gap that gives the STS4 profile its name create a symmetrical, contemporary look, and the boards pair well with other profiles or a darker timber where contrast is wanted. Aspen carries few to no knots and does not weep resin, which is why it remains a favourite for home saunas. Each pack contains six boards, 15 mm thick and 140 mm wide with a 130 mm effective coverage, available in 2100 mm and 2400 mm lengths.

Timber
Aspen is our lightest sauna wood, with a uniform, straight grain and a colour that ranges from light brown to nearly white. It carries few to no knots and does not weep resin, one of the reasons for its popularity in home saunas. For a bolder scheme, aspen mixes well with a darker timber.
Profile
The STS4 profile takes its name from the 4 mm gap between each board. Slim, angular grooves give a symmetrical, strong aesthetic, which makes STS4 a popular choice for contemporary saunas. It can also be combined with other wood profiles for a more individual interior.
Quality & Wastage
This is A-grade timber, characterised by its durability, freedom from knots and low risk of splintering, and the general sauna wood grading standards apply. As a natural product, there is some colour variation between packs and batches. We recommend a wastage allowance of 15%, which also covers any risk of damage in transit; our online cladding calculator can help you estimate quantities.
Installation & Care
The cladding is well suited to DIY installation; an Installation and Maintenance Guide is available under the Downloads tab. We recommend treating the boards with paraffin oil, which slightly deepens the colour of the wood. Lifestyle images are representative only; the finished look will vary with the width and placement of the cladding.
Ordering & Delivery
Timber orders travel on a palletised shipping service due to their size, and delivery may be a kerbside drop with handballing off the vehicle. We normally ship lengths up to 2400 mm. If you need a shorter length than we stock, our cutting service can trim a longer board for a small fee, with the off-cut added to the pallet.
