Description
Finnmark Sauna's paper-backed aluminium foil vapour barrier lines the walls and ceiling of a sauna, stopping steam from driving moisture into the structure and insulation behind. Impermeable to water vapour, it also helps to keep the room warm and energy efficient by reducing heat loss through the walls. Each roll measures 24 m by 1.25 m, giving 30 m² of coverage, and the PE-laminated paper backing is very tear resistant during installation. Seams, overlaps, fixings and penetrations should be sealed with specialist aluminium foil vapour tape, which is sold separately.

Installation
Staple the vapour barrier to all interior surfaces: the walls and ceiling, not the floor. Start with the ceiling, then move on to the walls. Fix the foil along the frame by stapling or nailing, and make sure the edges of each sheet overlap by at least 75 mm (3"). Seal all seams, overlaps, fixings and penetrations with specialist aluminium foil vapour tape to ensure air-tightness.
