These aspen sauna bench boards from Thermory are supplied in packs of four, machined to the SHP profile: 28 mm thick, 120 mm wide, with corners rounded to a 3 mm radius (R3) for a smooth, comfortable edge. Aspen is the lightest of the sauna timbers, ranging from a light brown to nearly white, with a uniform, straight grain and few to no knots; it does not weep resin, one of the reasons for its popularity in home saunas. The boards come in 2100 mm and 2400 mm lengths and are well suited to DIY bench projects, while our Sauna Bench Fabrication Service can build a bespoke bench system if you would rather leave the joinery to us.

Timber
Aspen is the lightest sauna wood we offer, with a uniform, straight grain and few to no knots. Its colour ranges from a light brown to nearly white, and it does not weep resin, one of the reasons for its popularity in home saunas. For a bolder look, aspen can be mixed with a darker timber. As a natural product, timber shows some colour variation between different packs and batches.
Profile
SHP is the standard timber profile for sauna bench boards: a rectangular section with radiused corners, usually R2, R3 or R4 (a 2 mm, 3 mm or 4 mm radius on each corner). The radius value describes the smoothness of the board edge; these boards are R3. The 28 mm thickness is important for preventing warping and twisting over time.
Quality & Wastage
Our aspen sauna timber is A-grade: durable, knot-free and with a low risk of splintering. If you need a shorter length than we stock, our cutting service can cut a longer board down for a small fee; you purchase the full length and the off-cut is added to the pallet.
